We have lived in the Ballard area for 19 years now.  Our kids have attended Ballard Schools since kindergarten and we have had a great experience!  There are four towns that make up the Ballard School District:  Huxley, Slater, Cambridge, & Kelley.  Three of these towns have schools in them.  Here is the breakdown:  Slater - Ballard West (Ek-2), Cambridge - Ballard East (3-5), Huxley has MS (6-8) & HS (9-12).  The District uses an online system for registration.  You will want to contact the business office here:  http://www.ballard.k12.ia.us/staff-directory/administration-office/   Currently, it's Amber Jungst for the main contact.  They will get you instructions for getting your online portal set up.  All of your student's attendance and grades will be posted here. 

Ballard has the best bus drivers!  The main hub for buses is the Middle School.  The bus system will transport your child to any of the schools.  They can either pick up near your neighborhood or you can drop them off at the Middle School. 

Ballard has just the right size class sizes, in my opinion.  It's big enough that kids have a lot of opportunities but small enough that parents know each other to carpool to events.  It takes a village to coordinate logistics sometimes!  If you have any questions regarding the Ballard Schools, please reach out!  We are happy to help with any questions you have!
